Beauty That’s More Than Skin Deep

Why do we choose to make our skincare with natural ingredients?

Skin Deep

Beauty That’s More Than Skin Deep
Why do we choose to make our skincare with natural ingredients? Synthetic ingredients are often created to mimic the benefits of natural ingredients.

We don’t understand why though, when the real deal is so effective and sustainable.
We use naturally potent pure organic ingredients, which we blend with our scientific understanding of the skin and the causes of hyperpigmentation, to create our soon to be award-winning skincare.

Having it independently tested simply proved what we already knew.
Etiam skincare works. Nature has the answer, you just need to discover the perfect formula. Which is exactly what we did.

Here are some of our hero organic ingredients, and why we’ve selected them for use in our skincare:

DAMASK ROSE

ROSA DAMASCENA

Along with scenting their wine with rose petals, the Romans were first to classify and document the healing powers of natural rose water. It is recognized for having an antiwrinkle effect, which is ideal for use in anti-aging skincare formulations. Its astringent properties work to reduce sebum excess and even out skin tone. Finally, this floral water also boasts calming properties that effectively help soothe irritated skin

LIQUORICE ROOT

GLYCYRRHIZA GLABRA

The humble liquorice root is something of a skincare superstar. Not only does it have skin lightening and brightening properties, thanks to glabridin – an active that inhibits tyrosinase (the cause of pigmentation when skin is exposed to the sun), it’s also soothing and protective, thanks to licochalcone – an anti-inflammatory and antioxidant molecule that also helps to control oil production while calming and soothing over-sensitive skin.

Rosemary Leaf

Rosmarinus Officinalis

You may look at rosemary differently when you discover that this hydrating leaf extract contains soothing anti-inflammatory and oil-balancing properties, is high in skin-defending antioxidants and, if that weren’t enough, has been shown to stimulate cell growth which in turn helps to reduce fine lines and wrinkles. Evergreen rosemary contains iron, calcium and phytonutrients, which has long associations with memory

ALOE Vera

Aloe Barbadensis

The spiky exterior of these leaves couldn’t be more at odds with the incredibly nurturing flesh inside. Suitable for all skin types, in particular sensitive, irritated, damaged, broken and dry skin, aloe vera’s multitude of skin benefits include being anti-inflammatory – soothing all skin types, antioxidant – bringing protective qualities to skin, humectant – aiding in moisture retention, and soothing, anti-itch qualities for skin.

SWEET ALMOND OIL

PRUNUS AMYGDALUS STAVIA

The oil from the kernel has an almost magical ingredient – vitamin E, which is naturally high in skin-defending antioxidants that help to protect from harmful UV damage, and fatty acids that help skin to lock in moisture.

ShEA Butter

Butyrospernum Parkii

Anti-inflammatory, aids the skins healing process due to its fatty acid and vitamin K concentration is an emollient and an effective moisturiser.

what we don't use

Search as hard as you like, but there are some ingredients you just won’t find in our skincare.

We won’t use anything we’re not convinced is safe for you and the planet.

After all, what you put onto your skin goes into your body and out into the world.

We take our duty of care very seriously.

Certified Organic

When you see the Certified Organic logo, you know the treatment you’re putting on your skin contains the highest levels of ethically and sustainably sourced organically-grown natural ingredients.

And just as, or possibly more importantly, it’s free from anything ‘undesirable’ – you’d be amazed what’s in some products with labels that screamed ‘natural’ (ingredients with absolutely no relation to Mother nature, that’s for sure).
